'Worship is man's response to the greatness of God.' This is a common modern definition of worship. While there is truth in the statement, it is often taken to mean that there is no proper response to God's greatness - anything we do, as long as it is done with sincerity, is appropriate worship. The Westminster Confession of Faith says, however, 'the acceptable way of worshipping the true God is instituted by Himself, as so limited by His own revealed will, that He may not be worshipped according to the imaginations and devices of men, or any other way not prescribed in the Holy Scripture.' What should we make of modern worship? Does the Bible have anything to say on this important topic?</p>
