CHRISTMAS IN SEPTEMBER – Bethel’s Dorcas Society held their annual Christmas in September event. All donations collected were sent to the two OPC missionaries that the group supports, The Hacquebords and the Foltas. Thanks to the generosity of our church, we were able to bless each family with a $500 Christmas gift.
 
TEACHER APPRECIATION DAY – September 13 was Sunday School Teacher Appreciation Day at Bethel. This is our opportunity to show gratitude to all the folks who labor in instruction for our spiritual benefit. We really do appreciate you!
 
ANNUAL CHURCH PICNIC – October 3, a warm sunny day, saw many members of Bethel gathered together for food and fellowship at the home of the Taylors for our annual church picnic. A moon bounce and softball game, traditions at this event, plus good company, ensured lots of laughter and fun.
 
REFORMATION SUNDAY – German food and a reformation – related movie were enjoyed at the church building the evening of November 1 at our annual Reformation Day celebration. This year a separate program was held after dinner for the children, complete with movie-theater-style popcorn, crafts and games. A wonderful event!
 
RULING ELDER INSTALLATION – The Bethel congregation rejoiced on Sunday, November 8 at the installation of Glenn Taylor to the office of ruling elder. We are thankful to God for the leadership he has provided to his people in Glenn and the other elders of our church.
 
OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD – In what has become a much-anticipated event at Bethel, we once again participated in Operation Christmas Child. On Sunday, November 21, Pastor Hammond led us in prayer for the physical, emotional and spiritual blessing of the children who will receive the many boxes collected by our church.
 
ADVENT HAPPENINGS – Many special events are planned and have taken place to celebrate the Advent season, including:
 November 28 – Sanctuary Decoration; thank you to all who came out to help decorate our church for Advent
 December 5 – Christmas Cards for Missionaries; thank you to Rebekah Moughon for organizing this even for our children and for blessing our missionaries in this way.
 December 12 – Hammond Family Open House; thank you to all who came and made this a festive and fun day
 December 13 – Children’s Christmas Program; Una LaPre’s hard work made this an event to remember – what a wonderful job the children did!
 December 19 – Caroling Outreach (Cancelled due to heavy snow)
 December 20 – Candlelight Communion Service (Cancelled due to heavy snow)
